These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the website design, build, and hosting services provided by Handshake MG ("we," "us," "our"). By submitting our site assessment form, purchasing a subscription, or otherwise using our services, you agree to these Terms.
Handshake MG provides a custom-built, one-page website for your business based on the information you submit through our site assessment, along with hosting for that website, for a flat monthly subscription fee. Your subscription includes reasonable minor updates (such as changes to contact information, hours, or small text edits). Larger changes — such as adding new pages, sections, or a substantial redesign — may be treated as a separate request and may be subject to an additional fee, at our discretion.
Our service is billed on a recurring monthly basis at the rate advertised at the time of your signup, processed securely through our third-party payment provider, Stripe. There is no long-term contract — you may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your website will be taken offline, since hosting is provided as part of the active subscription rather than a one-time purchase. We do not store your full payment card details; all payment processing is handled directly by Stripe.
If you already own a domain name, you are responsible for maintaining that registration and any renewal fees with your registrar. We will provide instructions for connecting your domain to your Handshake MG site. If you do not yet have a domain, we may recommend third-party domain registrars, but any domain you purchase is registered in your name, owned by you, and billed directly to you by that registrar — Handshake MG does not purchase, own, or hold domain names on your behalf.
You represent that you own, or have the necessary rights and permissions to use, any logo, image, text, or other content you submit to us for your website. You grant Handshake MG a license to use that content solely for the purpose of building and hosting your website. We reserve the right to refuse to publish, or to remove, any content that we believe is illegal, infringing, offensive, or otherwise in violation of these Terms.
Because your website is hosted as part of an active subscription, the underlying website template, code, and hosting infrastructure remain the property of Handshake MG for the duration of your subscription. The business information, text, and images you provide remain yours. If you cancel your subscription, we can provide a reasonable export of your content upon request, but the live site and its hosting will be discontinued.
We do not guarantee any specific business outcome, amount of website traffic, search engine ranking, or uptime percentage as a result of using our services. Our services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Handshake MG's total liability arising out of or related to these Terms or our services will not exceed the amount you paid us in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost business opportunities.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify active subscribers. Your continued use of our services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
You may cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate your service if a payment fails, if you violate these Terms, or if you submit content that violates our acceptable use standards described above.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles.
